As well as other garden tasks, we will take this session as a chance to mark the much awaited arrival of Spring. The Spring Equinox tells us that the days will continue to get lighter and longer, and that the time for sowing is near.
“Now is the dark half of the year passing
Now do the days grow light and the Earth grows warm I summon the spirit of these seeds
Which have slept in darkness
Awaken, stir and swell
Soon you will be planted in the earth
To grow and bring froth new fruit”
We are now running a weekly Growing Club every Friday from 10am-12pm. Our main activities at the moment are: – expanding our growing area with new raised beds – preparing our fruit growing areas - planting new herbs and sowing seeds – continuing work on our wildflower meadow – spending time connecting with our senses
We’re having special seasonal events and celebrations, and once a month we sit together for a shared lunch after the growing session.
If you are interested in joining please come to our next induction on April 12th
The club is led by grower Alice Masson-Taylor and Shaun Tuck.
