It's that time of year again! The hops are ready and we're heading to the fields of Kent to pick them for this autumn's Company beer. Spaces on this trip will be limited so please contact us if you're interested in joining. For more information about this trip, keep checking our website. We'll soon let you know how you can book your place. There are still a few spaces on the coach, contact Cam on firstname.lastname@example.org to enquire about signing up - the trip is for adults only. Bring a picnic and plenty of water, and check the forecast for the day, we'll pick whatever the weather. (Adults only)
Meet outside the Dagenham Heathway Library at 9.30 and will leave by 10am latest.
We’ll return around 5 (traffic dependent)
What to bring:
Please bring a pack lunch and plenty of water – we’ll of course bring drinks! We’re visiting a working farm so there’s no shop or cafe.
We’ll be outdoors all day and often walking on uneven terrain. If you have need for walking assistance this trip may not be suitable for you. We recommend bringing walking sticks or similar if helpful.
There will be toilets on the coach and at the farm, we recommend you use the library facilities before we leave.
The coach parks up right by where we pick so we wont be walking any long distances.
We’ll bring chairs too.
We’ll be going rain or shine!
Best bet is to keep checking the forecast and bring clothes for all weather. If it rains we’ll pick under shelter, if it’s sunny we’ll set up our usual area in the open.
If it’s been raining this week it might be wise to wear some sturdy outdoor shoes.
