Company: Movements, Deals and Drinks in an art project in the shape of a community drinks enterprise. Taking as a starting point the history of east Londoners ‘going picking’ to Kent, the project extends he collective labour process further to complete a whole cycle of production, trade and reinvestment into a new kind of company.
Artist Kathrin Böhm (Myvillages) and writer Miranda Pope will map out the project’s ambitions behind the four word title, its status as and art work and the practical reclaiming of the term ‘company’.
This will be followed by a public conversation with publication contributors the economist David Boyle, architect Doina Petrescu, journalist Seb Emina and chaired by Marijke Steedman, curator at Create.
The full 2015 Company Drinks range will be served afterwards with an invitation to stay for an informal get-together and talk to others involved in the project – former hop-pickers, drinks makers, growers and other collaborators.
