Wassailing is an old midwinter orchard ritual where people gather after dark to sing to the trees, make a joyful noise and share warm spiced apple drinks, all to bless the coming year’s harvest. Company Drinks will be on hand with hot spiced apple juice to keep you warm and to toast the trees We will be making lots of noise to wake up the apples trees so bring your best noise makers for a fun afternoon

Come and join in the fun at this seasonal celebration of our Community Apple Orchard – suitable for all the family.
There will be a range of activities taking place throughout the day around the orchard including:
- Craft activities for all
- Find out which is your nearest local Community Orchard in the borough (there are several!) and sign up to take part in future volunteer sessions to care for the fruit trees
- Colourful Wassail characters
- Music and singing led by the Romford Ceilidh Band
- The Wassail Ceremony – involving a musical processsion, tree decorating and general ‘noise-making’ to wake up the trees from their winter dormancy
- Hot Wassail drinks provided by Company Drinks
You can also visit the Eastbrookend Tea Rooms to buy additional tasty hot & cold snacks and drinks.
