Join us for our favourite picking walk of the year as we explore our local green spaces to pick some delightful Elderflowers. This is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, discover hidden gems in our area, and enjoy a day filled with fresh air all in Good Company. Elderflowers are known for their delicate fragrance and versatility in recipes, especially when making delicious cordials. During this walk, you'll learn how to identify and harvest elderflowers responsibly, all while connecting with others who share your interest in sustainable practices and local traditions. After the walk, we'll use our gathered elderflowers to create a fragrant and refreshing elderflower cordial, which you can enjoy at home or share with friends and family. It's a fantastic way to celebrate the beauty of our local environment and the joys of community gatherings. Whether you're an experienced forager or new to the world of wildcrafting, everyone is welcome. Bring your enthusiasm, a basket or bag for collecting flowers, and a smile! We look forward to seeing you there.

We’ll be meeting at the Eastbrookend Discovery Centre (formerly the Millenium Centre) at 12pm. Please wear comfortable shoes, check the forecast and bring waterproofs, sunscreen etc. Please feel free to bring your own packed lunch and plenty of water, we will provide some drinks for when we finish picking. Please note that we’ll be walking a little more than usual because the usable Elder trees are a little way further away this year, so consider this for accessibility. We recommend comfortable footwear and bringing walking sticks etc. Please let our team know if you need to take a seat or hang back. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
