Art in Romney Marsh

We're hosting a special screening of our film entitled 'Pickers', which was produced during our latest trip to Kent. The film tells stories of picking past and present, and features a few familiar faces from the Company Drinks team of volunteers. The screening will of course be accompanied by a Company Drinks bar...

The film will be screened as part of Art in Romney Marsh 2016, an exhibition of contemporary artists’ site specific work and a celebration of the unique landscapes to be found on Romney Marsh. Read more about the festival here.

“The film explores the shared ‘foreigness’ of today’s (now threatened) eastern European fruit pickers working in Kent and the east London communities who migrated to the same rural landscape for working holidays in the early twentieth century”.

This project was produced with the support of the Delfina Foundation and MUF Architecture.
