The Good Food Collective

Barking and Dagenham welcomes a new resident-run food group to the borough: the GOOD FOOD COLLECTIVE – a group of local food makers and cooks who are launching their new venture at Barking Market on Saturday 26th September.
.
“ We are local growers, makers and cooks, producing cakes, treats, preserves, cooking sauces and more, using recipes we’ve grown up with and things we grow locally or find in our pantries”
.
We are united in our belief that there is an urgent need for a better understanding of where our food comes from, how to grow it, how to cook it, and how to share our knowledge”
.
The Good Food Collective is a new community group which formed with the support of Company Drinks in February 2020. The group of 12 women meet monthly to discuss food issues that are relevant to Barking and Dagenham, such as access to healthy food, local food systems and the value of existing food knowledge.
.
The group is united in their belief that there is an urgent need for a better understanding of where food comes from, how to grow it, how to cook it, and how to share our knowledge.
.
Through September and October 2020 there will be a series of activities, both online and in Barking & Dagenham.
The Good Food Collective will soon be sharing great food and their delicious products, and will be asking about the food and drinks issues that mean the most to YOU.
