Delivered in partnership with Vocational Support Services

Our garden has not been fully open since March, but we have been running one to one and small group sessions since earlier in the summer. . In December Shaun, Alice and the Grow Club volunteers will be doing winter tasks such as repositioning perennials, maintenance work on garden infrastructure, and getting on top of weeds before they get a head start in Spring. We will also be giving some attention to our much loved compost bin, dead hedge, and leaf mould pile. They are the heart of the garden! . Gentle stretching and moving before gardening is even more important now as our muscles may be more tense in the cold. We will continue to start each session with a warm up. . Due to covid safety restrictions, these sessions are by registration only, so please get in touch with alice@companydrinks.info if you would like to attend and we will confirm if there are spaces. Watch this space or sign up to our newsletter (link below) for more opportunities over the winter and into next year.

.
Our main activities at the moment are:
– Weeding beds
– Mulching shrubs
– Working on our leaf mould collection
-Turning compost
– Relocating plants to places where they may be happier next season
– Spending time connecting with our senses
– Making the most of the light and shorter days
– Enjoying the very late bloomers!
.
These sessions will look a little different to our usual sessions because everyone needs to bring a mask for use whilst working, and sadly we can’t offer any of our tasty herbal teas to share. However please do bring a flask and hot drink of your own to keep you warm as the weather changes. And be sure to check the weather and wear appropriate clothing.
