Every week in Barking Park, we're growing all new ingredients, learning gardening skills and helping to improve the biodiversity of Barking Park. Wrap up warm this week as we will be outside laying the ground work for our wildflower meadow. We will see the fruits of our labour next year when the bowling green is transformed into a bee and butterfly haven that we can all enjoy as much as they can! As always, plenty of hot drinks to keep us warm, with home made herbal teas.
We are now running a weekly Growing Club every Friday from 10am-12pm.
Our main activities at the moment are:
– tending raised beds with edible herbs
– harvesting and processing herbs
– preparing a compost system
– root digging and bulb planting
– preparing wild flower areas
We’re having special seasonal events and celebrations, and once a month we sit together for a shared lunch after the growing session.
