May Digesting Politics Lunch: Better Food Policy

Company Drinks is about going picking and making drinks, as much as it is about asking questions about what local food production means..... We are hosting a communal lunch to enjoy local food and to unpack some of the politics behind its production...

This month we’re thrilled to be joined by cook citizen, community chef and activist Deirdre Woods… Dee works relentlessly alongside community projects, politicians, campaign groups, growers, producers and advocacy groups to make sure everyone has better access to good food.

She will be talking to us about how you build movements, affect policy and get things implemented; and sharing with us her experience of working alongside incredible initiatives such as the Community Food Growers Network and People’s Food Policy (to name a few).

The lunch will be a really informal, communal event, and we hope to spark some lively conversations that will culminate in Company Drinks producing some food policies of our own by the end of 2018…

No need to bring anything. Just an empty stomach and an opinion on why you eat what you eat.

Numbers are limited for food reasons. Please contact us if you’re interested in taking part

The Digesting Politics Monthly Lunches are delivered by Company Drinks with support from Barking & Dagenham Renew. The lunches are also part of a UK wide series of community food events called ‘Digesting Politics’,  co-organised with the artist run group Keep It Complex.
