Open House at Company Drinks

Sat 11 September 2021
11am - 5pm

Barking Park
Longbridge Road
Barking IG11 8TA

All Welcome

We are welcoming everyone back to our home and garden in Barking Park, with a wide range of Company Drinks style activities, from hands-on workshops, tours of the garden, a wellbeing Tombola, tasty food and drinks and the launch of new art and design works.

Special guests include the Good Food Collective, Mobile Apothecary and the Happy Hoppers. The pavilion is now fully refurbished and accessible, with new design work by local architect / designer Sahra Hersi for the Club Room, and local artist Susanna Wallis has made beautiful drawings for the different planting and well-being parts in our garden.

There will be lots of activities happening across the day, but there is limited capacity for the sessions so please book a free ticket to avoid disappointment.

If you don’t have access to email or Eventbrite, please just turn up. You can let us know by email if you’re bringing a group, or if you have any specific access needs, so that we can accommodate you accordingly:

11am – 1pm

The Grow Club and the Herbal Network invite you to a session including garden tours, herbal demonstrations, remedy making, stretching and wellness time and of course lots of tea and talks.

Find out about our weekly gardening sessions and the latest on the Community Herbalism initiative.

1pm – 3pm

The Good Food Collective and the Happy Hoppers invite you to pick hops, make food, and celebrate the heritage of the area in a session with plenty of cake to go around.

We’ll also be featuring our community consultation work for the National Trust owned Stoneford Cottage, and collect more opinions and ideas for how local heritage can be used and made public.

3pm – 5pm

Free family fun with Molecular Fizz kits, craft and creating workshops, art sessions and design ideas.

We are known for making things, and today you can make your own drinks, fix your bike or build a bug hotel.

Covid safety

We’ll mostly be outdoors, and we’ll encourage people to wear a face covering when entering the building, unless they are exempt from doing so. We’ll also encourage you to keep social distance from those outside of your immediate household / social bubbles. We ask everyone to be conscious of others’ health, safety and wellbeing, and to respect each others’ varying boundaries and levels of concern.

If you or anyone in your household have covid symptoms, we ask that you stay home, self-monitor, and take a covid test, if you think it’s necessary.
