Workshop 16+ and picnic all ages

A two hour long practical introduction with master scythe Ida Fabrizio, and an informal gathering around the hay with a picnic for all ages.

A two hour long practical introduction with master scythe Ida Fabrizio, learning the basics. In this two-hour session, you’ll become familiar with the basics of scything, including:

  • the advantages of scything and where to use it
  • how to hold and handle the tool safely
  • hands-on scything practice
  • how to clean and maintain your scythe

We’ll be scything the green areas in front of Company Drinks’ pavilion. The grass may be high or low depending on the weather leading up to the session.

Tools and scythes will be provided. Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing for outdoor work, and check the weather forecast before attending.

Hot and cold drinks, toilets, and indoor spaces will be available throughout the day.

An informal picnic with the wider community and regular Company Drinks members will take place from 1–3pm. Please bring food or snacks to share and join us if you can.
