At Company Drinks we pick and make drinks, as much as we ask questions about what local food production means to us all..... We are hosting a communal lunch to enjoy local food and to unpack some of the politics behind its production: This month we're thrilled to be joined by Helen Taylor from Stories & Supper; a refugee supper club project based in Walthamstow. We'll be talking about food, and sharing stories of how it can help people to remember their homes, or sometimes create new ones... If you have a food memory you'd like to share, please bring it. Spaces are limited. Email us on cam@companydrinks.info if you'd like to come along.

It’s More Than A Meal: Stories & Supper is a refugee supper club project based in Walthamstow, East London, which seeks to challenge the myths surrounding the migration crisis and provide a welcoming space for refugees living in London. They hold supper club events at venues around East London, giving refugee chefs the chance to cook for paying guests. They provide a space for refugee and migrant storytellers, poets and musicians to share their experiences of migration; bringing together local volunteers, refugees and dinner guests to build a more inclusive community and challenge negative migration stories. Learn more here.

No need to bring anything. Just an empty stomach and an opinion on why you eat what you eat.

Numbers are limited for food reasons. Please contact us if you’re interested in taking part

The Digesting Politics Monthly Lunches are delivered by Company Drinks with support from Barking & Dagenham Renew. The lunches are also part of a UK wide series of community food events called ‘Digesting Politics’,  co-organised with the artist run group Keep It Complex.
