The museum is housed in a 200-year-old warehouse. Highlighting the history of the capital as a port: through stories of trade of goods and migration, to becoming a financial centre for world trade. So please come join us as we explore the museum: its wealth of objects and documents. *Meet at Dagenham Heathway station at 1pm*

Meet at Dagenham Heathway station at 1pm. Or meet at bottom of the stairs at West India Quay Docklands Light Railway station at 1.45pm. There is a lift at the station.

We will travel to Barking on the District line, change there for the C2C to Limehouse then get the DLR to West Ferry Quay.
Alternative travel info if needed: The DLR is accessible from Stratford ( may need to change at Poplar ) or Limehouse from the C2C from Barking/West Ham, or Bow Church DLR -a short walk from Bow Road on the District Line. The museum is a 5 min walk from the station.

There is an optional public tour run by the museum at 2.15pm.

Our visit will informally be to 4pm but you are welcome to leave at whichever time suits you. It is likely we will visit the cafe for tea!
